Joan L. Frank, O.D.

Dr. Joan Frank has been an optometrist at Downtown Eye Care for over 20 years, providing personal attention and professional care for each of her patients. Dr. Frank graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1981. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Indiana Optometric Association. Dr. Frank also has a special membership in the AOA's Contact Lens and Cornea Section.

Dr. Joan Frank is certified in Ocular Therapeutics and is an affiliate of the TLC Laser Vision Centers. She is well-qualified to co-manage the care of patients who have laser vision surgery.

Dr. Frank is one of the few optometrists in central Indiana to be certified for vision shaping therapy, which is a non-surgical alternative to laser vision correction. This exciting new field will enable patients to improve their vision while they sleep, and give them improved daytime vision without eyeglasses, contact lenses, or surgery. Dr. Frank is certified in the Paragon Corneal Refractive Therapy and in the Bausch&Lomb Vision Shaping Treatment.

Dr. Frank participates in these charitable programs: VSP Sight for Students and the Prevent Blindness Gift of Vision.


Mark W. Habig, O.D.

Dr. Mark Habig is a 1977 graduate of Indiana University Optometry School and has been in private practice in Indianapolis since 1981. In 2005, Dr. Habig merged his practice with Downtown Eye Care. His interests are specialty contact lenses and eye disease management.

Dr. Mark Habig is certified in Ocular Therapeutics and is an affiliate of the TLC Laser Vision Centers. He can provide excellent pre- and post-operative care of cataract and refractive surgery.

Bob Hager, Senior Optician

Bob Hager has been dispensing contact lenses at Downtown Eye Care for over 20 years. He has lots of experience with all types of contact lenses, including specialty lenses and hard-to-fit lenses. Bob has trained multiple generations of many families how to handle and care for their contact lenses.

Lori Sauter, Senior Optician

Lori Sauter has been determining the perfect frame and lenses for Downtown Eye Care eyeglasses patients since 2000. She has over 20 years of experience as an optician. With a keen sense of the latest fashions in eyewear, Lori will guide you in finding just the right style for your facial features.

Tony Patterson, Optician

Tony Patterson joined Downtown Eye Care in 2006. He has been a verssatile optician since 1991, and will make sure that your eyeglasses are made quickly and correctly.
